Moon Reiver

Recently, this is my favorite song,"Moon River”. It is a very old English song composed by Johnny Mercer and Henry Mancini in 1961, originally sung by Audrey Hepburn. But here is a new version, it sung by an Asian singer name Khalil Fong ( Chinese name: 方大同),he called himself “soul music boy”. I think he is the first Chinese soul music singer, and I love his style. Of course, the bigger reason of why I like this song is because the song itself. This song is included in Khalil’s new album, “Timeless”. Some song should use the world “timeless” to describe, “Moon River” is one of these. I also like “you’re wonderful tonight” and “let it be”, I don’t know why did I like some old song like these. Maybe I am so old. However this song is great, slow, deep and touching....
Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossing you in style some day
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
Wherever you're going, I'm going your way
Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end, waiting round the bend
My huckleberry friend, Moon River, and me
Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after that same rainbow's end, waiting round the bend
My huckleberry friend, Moon River, and me

ben, thank you for this inspiring post. This is global hybridization! I love how styles and cultures mix. This does not sound like music that appeals to the masses- this is intellectual and avantgarde stuff!
